Lynn Seymour Award for Expressive Dance 2016

The 2016 Lynn Seymour Award for Expressive Dance was held on Thursday 24 November, in the Linden Studio at our base in Covent Garden. Our 2nd Year students performed selected solos of their choosing which they had prepared on their own, without coaching.

The winner was Marina Fraser (second from right), with second place awarded to Katharina Nikelski (second from left). In joint third place were Harrison Lee (far left) and Harris Bell (far right). Special mentions were given to Laurence Elliott, Rowan Shone, Gearoid Solan and Emily Umbrazunas.

On the judging panel were Kevin O’Hare, Director of The Royal Ballet and Dame Monica Mason. The award was created by Nina Finburgh in honour of Lynn Seymour, one of The Royal Ballet’s most celebrated dramatic ballerinas.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and thanks to our panel of judges.
