Charitable trusts, foundations and livery companies

The Royal Ballet School is a world leader in the quality of the training and education we provide. As a charity we can only maintain this outstanding level through the generous support of trusts, charitable foundations and livery companies, which supplements our government funding. In addition to generous support of our capital appeal to fund new accommodation for our Upper School students in Pimlico,  funds donated by charitable Trusts and Foundations play a vital role in enabling the School to:

  • Support our choreographic training programme
  • Improve the technical facilities in our dance studios and academic classrooms
  • Expand our Healthy Dancer Programme
  • Develop and enhance our outreach work in primary and secondary schools – these offer unique opportunities for disadvantaged children, talented teenagers across England to share in our teaching resources and develop their potential.
  • Provide means-tested bursaries to children from disadvantaged backgrounds to take music and voice lessons
  • Sponsor the commissioning of new choreography and the staging of ballets for School performances
  • Provide means-tested bursaries for young dancers to participate in our Associate Programme and our International Summer School
  • Maintaining and upgrading our website
  • Present prizes at graduation and for our choreographic competitions.

We are very grateful to the many trusts, foundations and livery companies who continue to make this possible. We are delighted to have a wide range of support from organisations, including: Clore Duffield, D’Oyly Carte Charitable Trust, Headley Trust, Leverhulme Trust and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Foundation.
