Didy Veldman

Contemporary Programmer Manager

Didy Veldman was a professional dancer from 1986 until 2000 with Scapino Ballet in The Netherlands, Geneva Ballet, Alias Company in Switzerland (co-founder) and Rambert Dance Company as well as an international choreographer since 2000 with 21 years of freelance experience.

She has created over 45 new works for 27 international companies, such as Rambert, Cedarlake, Northern Ballet Theatre, Goteborg Ballet, Iceland Dance Company, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal, Lithuanian National Ballet, New Zealand Ballet, Cullberg Ballet, Komische Oper Berlin and Geneva Ballet, creating full evening story-telling works with symphony orchestra to smaller works as part of a triple bill. Most recently she created a new work for Birmingham Royal Ballet together with composer Gabriel Prokofiev. In 2016, she started her own dance company Humanoove. Didy has been invited to teach and choreograph for many schools including The Royal Ballet School, Prix de Lausanne, Paris Opera School, Jacobs Pillow, Rosella Hightower, Cannes, English National Ballet School and Central School to name but a few.

Didy became the Contemporary Programme Manager at The Royal Ballet School in 2021.
