This course is aimed at all teachers of dance who are interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of factors that affect performance. A non practical lecture, this course will be led by Brian Thomas who will provide teachers with guidance and suggestions as to how teachers can create a conducive learning environment that promotes skill development and performance.


Brian Thomas has worked with dancers, student dancers and dance teachers for over 25 years. He has taught psychology at the Royal Academy of Dance, the ISTD, the Cecchetti Society, the Australian Ballet School, the Royal Ballet School and with various dance companies in the UK. He has also worked with dancers in the USA, Australia, Greece, Israel and Ireland. He has taught psychology at a number of colleges and universities and is the author of several business psychology books. A forthcoming title, Psychology for Dancers, will be published in late 2015.
