White Lodge and Covent Garden

We are seeking an experienced, focussed and committed individual to join our Intensive Courses team as Pastoral Manager. This new role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the pastoral team during the Intensive courses in both Spring (held at White Lodge, ages 11-15) and Summer 2018 (held at both White Lodge and Covent Garden ages 16-20), ensuring that all elements have been arranged, organised and communicated to relevant staff. The post holder will also need to have an overview of the Hong Kong Intensive and be contactable by phone in order to act as Designated Safeguarding Lead. The role will work closely with the pastoral and medical teams as well as the Intensive Courses Coordinators and will be ultimately responsible for the care and wellbeing of the attending students. This will be a relatively senior position and the successful candidate will be expected to have a detailed oversight of the workings of each boarding house and will forge a link between departments.

The successful candidate should have a relevant professional qualification and considerable experience working in a residential position with these age groups. As this role with act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the courses, the successful candidate must hold Level 3 Child Safeguarding training and will ideally have experience of this role previously.

Duration: Spring Intensive, London: 6 – 11 April 2019 (arrival on the 5 April to set up)

Spring Intensive, Hong Kong: 17 – 23 April 2019 (available by phone as DSL)

Summer Intensive, London: 16 July – 9 August 2019 (arrival on 15 July to set up)

Additional induction/set up/clear up days will also be required in addition to the above.

Rate of pay: £950 per week

Hours: This role will be full time during the intensive courses, exact days/hours to be confirmed. Hours will likely be in the region of 50 hours per week but flexibility is an essential requirement of this role. Accommodation can be provided for this role as the individual will need to respond to emergencies.
