Grant making trusts and foundations

The Royal Ballet School is a world leader in the quality of the training and education we provide. As a charity we can only maintain this preeminent position through the generous support of individuals, companies and grant-giving trusts and foundations, which supplement our government funding. In addition to generous support of our capital appeal to fund new accommodation for our Upper School students, funds donated by charitable trusts and foundations play a vital role and enable us to:

  • Expand our choreographic training programme
  • Improve the technical facilities in our dance studios and academic classrooms
  • Expand our Healthy Dancer Programme
  • Provide bursaries for those students who cannot afford music and voice lessons
  • Sponsor the commissioning of new choreography and the staging of ballets for School performances
  • Provide bursaries for young dancers to participate in our Associate Programme and International Summer School
  • Develop and enhance our outreach work in primary and secondary schools, offering unique opportunities for disadvantaged children and talented teenagers across England
  • Upgrade and maintain our website
  • Present prizes at graduation and choreographic competitions

We are very grateful to the many trusts, foundations and grant-giving bodies who continue to make this possible, including: The Linbury Trust, Clore Duffield Foundation, The Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, The Rothschild Foundation, Headley Trust, Leverhulme Trust, The Eranda Foundation and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden Foundation to name but a few.
