Fiona Harvey

Associate Teacher, Totnes

Fiona Harvey began dancing locally in Devon at the age of 3. She successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Junior Associate Programme in Devon where she was taught by Bath Associate teacher Karen Paisley.

In 1995 at the age of 11, Fiona was offered a place at The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge. Fiona remained at the School for 8 years graduating from the Upper School in 2003 under the Directorship on Gailene Stock. Whilst a pupil, Fiona won the James Monaham and Ninette de Valois awards for choreography in two consecutive years and completed her Royal Academy of Dance exams, receiving Honours for the Advanced exam. In her graduate year, Fiona danced with The Royal Ballet Company on various productions and toured with them to Moscow.

Fiona completed the Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies in 2011 and in that same year took over the role of Junior Associate Teacher in Totnes, Devon. In the past four years, many of the Totnes Junior Associate dancers have gone on to the Mid Associate programme and vocational ballet schools including White Lodge.
