The Royal Ballet School will deliver a programme of courses during the Summer holidays 2022. We are delighted to bring you an exciting variety of programmes across both our Covent Garden and Richmond sites this Summer.

Course structure

White Lodge, Richmond (10-15 year-olds)

The White Lodge Summer Intensive introduces The Royal Ballet School System of Training to students from around the globe.

This programme is a unique opportunity to receive the highest levels of coaching from our world-renowned Royal Ballet School faculty and special guests.

Our five weeks of classes split into one week and two-week courses. Students aged between 13-15 may choose two-week courses offering a range of classes taught and accompanied by our own artistic faculty and artistic director. Guest teachers and creators will also be part of the faculty. Students aged 10-15 may select a one-week course.

In addition to classical ballet technique classes, the Summer Intensive course typically includes:

Repertoire
Stagecraft
Variations

Full board is offered with healthy hot and cold meals with vegetarian and special dietary requirements catered for on request.

Dates

One week courses:
Week one: 19-23 July for girls and boys aged 10-11 years
Week two: 25-29 July for girls and boys aged 12-13 years
Week three: 1-5 August for girls and boys aged 10-11 years
Week four: 8-12 August for girls aged 12-13 years
Week five: 15-19 August for girls aged 12, 14, 15 and boys aged 12-13 years

Two-week courses:
Weeks one and two: 19-29 July for girls and boys aged 14-15 years
Weeks three and four: 1-12 August for girls and boys aged 14-15 years
Weeks four and five: 8-19 August for girls aged 13 years

Please note that registration day is the day prior to the first day of the course. Collection day is usually the last day of the course.

We are currently planning to run the course as residential and non-residential. Please state your preference on your application form. We will be following all Government guidelines related to Covid-19 at the time of the course to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

Upper School, Covent Garden (16-19 year-olds)

The Upper School Summer Intensive introduces The Royal Ballet School System of Training to students from around the globe.

This programme is a unique opportunity to receive the highest levels of coaching from our world-renowned Royal Ballet School faculty and special guests.

Our programme delivers five weeks of classes split into two-weeks, three-weeks and five-week courses. Our courses offer a range of classes taught and accompanied by our own artistic faculty and artistic director. Guest teachers and creators will also be part of the faculty.

In addition to classical ballet technique classes, the Summer Intensive course typically includes:

Dance classes are held in our state-of-the-art building in Covent Garden.

For residential students, accommodation will be provided at one of our boarding houses, in Covent Garden or Pimlico.

Aud Jebsen Hall, Pimlico, offers full board with healthy hot and cold meals with vegetarian and special dietary requirements catered for on request.

Jebsen House, Covent Garden, food is provided via a voucher for healthy hot and cold meals from the Royal Opera House. Students can choose from a variety of food choices made for all dietary requirements.

Week four and five: 8-19 August for women and men aged 16,17,18,19 years

Three-week course:
Weeks one-three: 19 July-5 August for women and men aged 16,17,18,19 years

Five-week course:
Weeks one-five: 19 July-19 August for women and men aged 16,17,18,19 years
