Sofia trains in Romania, and has mastered a wide range of classical, contemporary, character and national/folklore repertoire, including Harlequinade and The Awakening of Flora – Aurora, both by Marius Petipa, Pas de quatre variation 3 by Jules Perrot, My Hope by Caroline Le Noane, Scottish Dance by Anca Mandrescu and Ciuleandra by Iacob Macrea.
Sofia has achieved many distinctions in ballet so far. In 2022, she placed first in the Junior Classical class at the Youth America Grand Prix Paris and also achieved first place in the Children Solo Ballet Repertoire, Children Duo/Trio Ballet and Junior Contemporary Group classes at the Dance World Cup Romania. Previously, she has, among other awards, won 2nd place at International Dance Talent Competition Italy, and 1st place at the Youth America Grand Prix – Cattolica Semi-Finals.
On being named a Royal Ballet School International Scholar, Sofia said:
‘When I found out that I was chosen as an International scholar at Royal Ballet School, I felt joy and excitement. I am very honoured because this is the place where I can – step by step – reach my goals and hopes. Thank you for helping me to fulfil my dreams and for giving me a chance to become a professional dancer! I am going to work hard and with passion.’
