Today our 2nd Year students took part in the Lynn Seymour Award for Expressive Dance, performing in the Linden Studio Theatre at our base in Covent Garden.

The award was created by Nina Finburgh in honour of Lynn Seymour, one of The Royal Ballet’s most celebrated dramatic ballerinas. The competition was judged by Kevin O’Hare, Director of The Royal Ballet, Dame Monica Mason and Nina Finburgh.

Each of the 32 students performed an expressive solo of their choice, which they had prepared on their own, without coaching. The winner was Simone Acri (pictured third from left), with second place awarded to Francisco Serrano (pictured second from left).

Joseph Aumeer, Estelle Bovay, Finn Cooke, Aitor Galende Brizuela, Johanne Monfret, Grace Paulley and Nana Sakai were all highly commended.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and thanks to our panel of judges.
