The Royal Ballet School to hold Short Course in Belfast

The Royal Ballet School returns to Belfast with a three-part Associate Short Course at Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast with the aim to give young dancers an insight into The Royal Ballet School’s world-renowned training.

Students between the ages of 8-14-year-olds can attend the short course which will take place over three Saturdays on 2 November, 14 March and 20 June 2019/20. Students will be assigned to a class according to their age group and will enjoy a 2-hour lesson with Royal Ballet School teachers.

The course offers aspiring young dancers an insight into the School’s System of Training and to enhance their learning with their current teachers. It is part of The Royal Ballet School’s drive to build a greater presence in Northern Ireland.

Mark Annear, Head of Training and Access, said: ‘I am delighted that we are returning to Belfast with our new Associate Short Course which gives students the opportunity to work with our inspirational Associate Teachers. We believe strongly in the importance of nurturing young UK dancers and this is the next stage in bringing our expertise to Northern Ireland.’

The School will also run its popular Inspire CPD series, offering seminars 1-3 for dance teachers over three Sundays on 3 November, 15 March and 21 June 2019/20.

We also invite boys and girls aged 8 to 18 years old and their parents and dance teachers, to an Insight Weekend on 22-23 February 2019. Participants will get the chance to join a 2-hour masterclass with Royal Ballet School teachers. Dance teachers will be offered the chance to attend and observe up to five classes.
