Royal Ballet School students perform at Prix de Lausanne 2020
On 8 February 2020, a group of our 3rd Year students were invited to the Prix de Lausanne 2020 in Montreux, Switzerland, to give an interlude performance.
The students performed Larina Waltz by Ashley Page and excerpts from Rhapsody by Frederick Ashton on day 6 of the competition after the finals, before the award ceremony.
Introduced by alumna Deborah Bull, Baroness Bull, our group of 13 students included four previous Prix de Lausanne prize winners.
Artistic Director Christopher Powney said:
‘This was a very exciting opportunity for our 3rd Year students to perform at this prestigious competition, which has helped to launch so many careers in ballet. For our returning students who have previously won prizes here, it was also a very special celebration of their achievements’.
