Arts Showcase 2022

On Sunday 22 May, White Lodge students held their annual Arts Showcase. It was wonderful to see the return of this showcase, as the past two years’ performances have been sadly cancelled due to COVID. Friends, family, staff and supporters were invited to attend and it was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their talents in front of an audience.

A varied showcase

The Showcase was made up of a wide variety of music, drama and dance performances. The Year 7, 8 and 9 Choirs sang a medley of songs from Mary Poppins Returns by Marc Shaiman, arranged by Mac Huff. Vocal solos included Can’t Help Lovin’ Dat Man from Show Boat and Where’er You Walk by Joseph Handel. Instrumental solos included the Meditation from Thaïs played on the violin, Siciliana by Michel Blavet on the flute, and Allegro from Sonata No. 4 in E Flat Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on the piano. Students also performed a number of dramatic monologues and duologues, and dance solos of their own choreography. Artwork from various year groups was also displayed throughout the afternoon while music composed by our students played in the background.

A range of talents

Our Arts Showcase is a brilliant opportunity for our students to showcase their artistic skills aside from their talent in ballet. It is also a celebration of all of the hard work that takes place within our Art, Music, Drama and Dance departments.

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this performance possible and to all those who came to support our students.
