Los Angeles Intensive
Course summary
We are thrilled to bring our Intensive Course to Los Angeles for dancers aged 10 to 19 to experience The Royal Ballet School’s System of Training in a supportive and inspiring environment.
This non-residential course will include classical ballet technique and other dance disciplines such as repertoire, pointe work, focus classes, body conditioning, and stagecraft, taught by the School’s artistic faculty and special guest teachers.
During the Intensive, students can also choose to sign up for additional coaching sessions. These sessions will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

What will dancers learn?
Under the guidance of the School’s expert Artistic faculty, aspiring dancers will participate in a comprehensive programme of classes including:
- Classical ballet technique
- Repertoire
- Focus class
- Body conditioning
- Stagecraft.
Course structure
Dancers will participate in a comprehensive programme that includes classical ballet technique, repertoire, focus class, body conditioning and stagecraft.
We will also be offering non-selective additional coaching sessions which participants can sign up according to their needs on a first come, first served basis.
Teaching and faculty
These intensives will be taught by:
- Paul Kay, Head of Intensive Courses and Talent Identification
- Rachael Hunt, Artistic Manager International Intensive Courses
- Royal Ballet School artistic staff
- Guest teachers with professional ballet experience.
Outcomes and progression
Dancers complete a five-day or ten day course and finish with a cool down, reflection and certificate presentation. This course does not function as an audition for other programmes.
