Keenan is 14 years old and began dancing at the age of eight. He started training at Pulse Dance Centre in Vancouver, where he learnt various dance forms and won awards in competitions. When he was 10, he began to take a greater interest in ballet and entered his first pre-competitive events. Keenan was invited to the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) finals in 2020.
Aside from dance, Keenan has also pursued film acting and musical theatre, however he began to focus purely on ballet at 13, when spent his first year away from home training at Elite Classical Coaching (ECC) in Plano Texas. While training with ECC, he was awarded first place at YAGP for contemporary, classical, and pas de deux, and was included in the top 12 finalists at the YAGP finals in 2023. He was also awarded full scholarships to American Ballet Theatre, The Royal Ballet and as well as numerous other opportunities with prestigious ballet institutes all over the world.
Keenan was also invited in 2023 to participate in the inaugural YAGP International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) and was invited to perform in multiple YAGP Galas, including the Nervi Festival, Tampa Finals, New York and California.
Currently, Keenan trains at Bloch Ballet Canada in his hometown of Vancouver. He is honoured to be included as a Royal Ballet International Scholar.
On being named Royal Ballet School International Scholar, Keenan said:
I am extremely grateful and thrilled to have been invited to participate in The Royal Ballet School International Scholar Programme. I am excited for the opportunity to train abroad in such a renowned ballet institution where I will be tested and challenged to grow as a ballet dancer.
