Tianqing Qiu

Tianqing Qiu lives in Shanghai, China and first discovered ballet when she was four years old. At age seven, she began training with her current teacher, where her passion for ballet continued to grow. She puts her full focus into every class and always tries her best to listen closely to guidance. She was grateful for the opportunity to take part in YAGP, meet so many extraordinary young dancers and receive feedback from professional teachers.
She admires The Royal Ballet School for its rich heritage, high standards and thoughtful approach to nurturing young artists. She is eager to grow not only as a technician but also as a sensitive, musical dancer.
Outside of the studio, she enjoys singing, contemporary dance and spending time in nature. She values kindness, discipline and respect. She is ready to learn with an open heart, and her dream is to keep improving and dedicating her life to ballet.
On being named a Royal Ballet School International Scholar:
‘The Royal Ballet School has always felt like a special place to me. I have dreamed of coming here for a long time, so being part of the International Scholars Programme feels like a dream come true.
I am excited to learn from the teachers here, try new things and share my love of ballet with other young dancers. I know I still have so much to learn, and that makes me even more excited to keep growing. I will work hard, stay curious and enjoy every step of this journey. I hope that wherever I dance, I can always dance with joy, with feeling and with my whole heart.’
