Victor Hugo Garcia Rodrigues

I started dance classes at the age of 8, as a fellow at the dance school where I take classes, Dance Studio Shirley Santos, which is in my city of Planaltina in the Federal District, capital of Brazil. I take classes every day from Monday to Friday, ballet, jazz and contemporary classes. I participated in major dance championships in the country, including the Joinville Festival, considered the largest in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records, and was awarded, a source of great pride because I dedicated myself a lot. Now 13 years old, I still dance and that is what I love most in life, and my dream of becoming a professional dancer.  

On being named a Royal Ballet School International Scholar:

‘I am very happy to receive this opportunity, because training with The Royal Ballet School has always been a great dream, because I admire and am a fan of many dancers who are from The Royal Ballet. I hope to one day reach this level, and I believe that I will dedicate myself a lot. I will do my best to learn as much as I can and deliver all my dance, which I love so much.’
