The royal ballet school’s annual summer performances 2017

The Royal Ballet School returns to Opera Holland Park for Summer Performances 2017

Each year, The Royal Ballet School holds a series of Summer Performances, an invaluable opportunity for students to perform pieces of classical repertoire alongside new choreography. The performances are an opportunity to witness the exceptional talent of our young dancers and are a must-see for all ballet fans. For the second year in a row, the school will return to Opera Holland Park in West London with tickets going on sale at the end of the Spring Term.

These four outstanding performances will feature dancers from all years of the school in a mixed programme of classical ballet repertoire, contemporary and character pieces and work by choreographers such as Kenneth MacMillan, Frederick Ashton, August Bournonville, Michel Fokine, Ohad Naharin, Didy Veldman, Hans van Manen, Jonathan Watkins and Kristen McNally.

The Summer performances see our current students follow in the footsteps of our alumni, dancers and choreographers of international renown. From Margot Fonteyn, Kenneth MacMillan, Antoinette Sibley, Anthony Dowell, Anya Linden, David Bintley and Darcey Bussell, to a new generation currently making its mark on the world stage – Lauren Cuthbertson, Steven McRae, Vadim Muntagirov and Edward Watson, The Royal Ballet School trains dancers to have both the technical ability and performance experience to enter a professional career in classical ballet.

It is a unique and exciting chance to see some of the world’s brightest young ballet dancers as they continue their journey to becoming professional dancers.
