The Ninette de Valois Choreographic Award 2017

On Thursday 30 March 2017, our White Lodge students took part in the annual Ninette de Valois Choreographic Award.

This year the Award inspired a total of 37 entries choreographed by students in Years 7, 8 and 9. Of these pieces, 13 were shortlisted for Thursday’s final.

 

Congratulations to our winners:

1st Prize

360 Degrees – Skya Powney (Year 9)

2nd Prize

A Party in Hell – Jack Bruce (Year 9)

3rd Prize

Cuban Sugar – Poppy Frankel (Year 9)

 

 

Commendations were also awarded to:

Red Serendipity – Tianie-Finn Grainger (Year 7)

Wartime Sorrows – Poppy Downing (Year 8)

I am Tchaikovsky – Harriet Gibson (Year 7)

Intra Mentis (Inside the Mind) – Vlada Kotter (Year 9)

The Valerie Adams Award for exceptional musicality

James Large and Louis Scrivener

The John Mitchell Folder Prize for the best choreographic folder
