Children raise their hands in response to a question at an anti-bullying workshop

White Lodge students ‘Brave the Rage’ for Anti-Bullying Week

15 – 19 November was Anti-Bullying Week, coordinated in England and Wales by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. We welcomed the team from Brave the Rage to White Lodge to run some anti-bullying workshops for students from Years 7 to 11.

Brave the Rage is an organisation which provides families, children and young people with practical solutions to bullying and anger. Their workshops help children and young people to reflect on feelings of pain and anger, learn how to release stress in a positive way and increase emotional resilience.

Using a 5-step technique, Director Julie Wilkinson guided students in some practical mindfulness and relaxation techniques that can help provide a ‘safe space’ in times of anger or stress. Julie and the students also discussed ways to feel more happy and confident and build positive relationships through effective communication and positive body language.
