Dancers in Leeds can now access the full Senior Associate Programme
We’re thrilled to be able to expand our world-class training in the unofficial capital of Yorkshire.
For the past two years, we’ve been running short courses in Leeds that spanned six three-hour sessions over the school term. These comprehensive sessions extended and complemented the students’ existing ballet training. We’ve been delighted with not only the popularity of the courses, but also the enthusiasm that young dancers in Leeds brought to the sessions.
We’re now offering students in Leeds access to the full Senior Associate Programme—the same course we offer in London and Birmingham—starting in September 2023, meaning that selected students will now be able to participate in the programme more regularly. We are so happy to extend opportunities for students in the North to experience The Royal Ballet School’s outstanding training closer their homes.
Students who would like to take part in the programme can apply through the School’s current audition process for Senior Associates, and attend the in-person audition in Leeds on 25 November. If they can’t make that date, students can also audition in any one of our other audition venues.
Successful applicants can expect the high quality training the Associate Programme is recognised for, plus access to other Associate activities such as in person and online workshops and viewing rehearsals by The Royal Ballet. Selected students will participate in 18 sessions throughout the year, studying the School’s unique System of Training, which is an English style of classical ballet, rooted in tradition and passed down by successive teaching staff and guest teachers sourced from our alumni.
