Summer Performances 2019
Throughout June and July, the students took part in seven sell-out performances: two at the Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre as part of the Young Talent Festival, four at Opera Holland Park and the final performance on the Royal Opera House Main Stage.
It was an invaluable opportunity for students to perform pieces of classical repertoire alongside new choreography on these very special stages.
The students performed works such as David Bintley’s Scottish Dances from Flowers of the Forest, Marius Petipa’s Paquita, and Fredrick Ashton’s La Valse to more contemporary pieces such as Pulse by Goyo Montero.
The response from those who came to watch the performances has been extremely encouraging so a big congratulations to all of the students who took part.
Our thanks to Imagination for sponsoring our Summer Performances.
The performance on 14th July at ROH was, as always, very enjoyable and again, as always., the Grande Defile at the end reduced me to tears. However, I was very disappointed that the programme did not indicate which dancers were joining which companies.
