Course summary
We’re excited to announce the return of the ultimate half-term activity for young dancers in London and Manchester this October.
Open to all, this series of one-day Intensive Courses will feature classes focusing on improving musicality and dynamics, and exploring repertoire from the ballet Giselle.

Who is this course for?
This course is for dancers who:
- Are aged 8–15 years in London, 8-14 years in Manchester (on the day of the course)
- Want a supportive one-day experience of classical ballet training during October half-term
- Are looking for a non-selective workshop (no audition required).
What will dancers learn?
Depending on the venue and age group, dancers will take part in:
- Warm-up, body awareness and conditioning
- A structured ballet class
- An afternoon focus class (musicality and dynamics) and/or repertoire class from the ballet Giselle.
Training is adapted to age and level.
Teaching and faculty
Our Intensive’s are taught by:
- Royal Ballet School Artistic Staff
- Guest teachers with professional ballet experience.
Course structure
London
Focus class: Improving musicality and dynamics
Musicality and dynamics are an essential part of classical ballet. This one-day intensive will connect these components and help young dancers apply this understanding to their dancing.
Dates: Sunday 25 or Monday 26 October 2026
Students aged 8-9 and 10-12
09.30-10.00 – registration
10.00-10.30 – warm up, body awareness and conditioning
10.45-12.15 – ballet class
12.15-13.00 – lunch
13.00-14.30 – focus class
14.30-15.00 – cool down and reflection, presentation of certificates.

Students aged 13-15

Repertoire class: exploring Giselle
This one-day intensive course will explore repertoire from the romantic ballet Giselle.

This one-day intensive course will explore repertoire from the romantic ballet Giselle.

Outcomes and progression
Dancers complete a one-day workshop experience and finish with a cool down, reflection and certificate presentation (as shown in the published timetables). This course is non-selective and does not function as an audition for other programmes.
