The Honourable Anna Birkett

The Honourable Anna Birkett is the Deputy Chair of the Board of Governors and Chair of the Development Committee at The Royal Ballet School.

Anna’s professional career spanned over 30 years as a solicitor, including many years as a partner during which she held both senior practice and management roles in a large firm. She retired from full-time practice in 2014 to pursue her interest in the education sector and has since held a number of governance roles across the sector, including as Chair of Benenden Girls School and Deputy Chair of the Chelsea Academy.

Anna has a lifelong love of ballet and has been involved with The Royal Ballet School since 2010, initially as a supporter and member of the Development Committee, before formally joining the Board of Governors in 2018. She served as Interim Chairman from January to October 2024. Anna was appointed Trustee of The Frederick Ashton Foundation in 2026.
