Let’s Dance at The Royal Ballet School
Join us on Sunday 2 March as we open our doors to the public as part of the UK’s first nationwide initiative, Let’s Dance.
Led by Angela Rippon CBE, Let’s Dance is a nationwide event designed to get the UK moving and promote the physical and mental benefits of dance through classes, workshops, and community events.
Our goal is to engage as many people as possible, especially those who might not typically have the chance to experience dance. So, if you’ve never danced before but have always wanted to give it a go, this is the event for you! We invite anyone and everyone to come along, no matter your age or ability.
A variety of dance styles will be on offer including ballet, contemporary, character and mime and gesture, led by Royal Ballet School teachers.
Date: Sunday 2 March 2025
Time: 11.00-17.00 – Guests can choose ONE of five classes starting on the hour from 11.00 to 16.00 and running for 30-40 minutes in duration.
Location: The Royal Ballet School, 46 Floral Street, London WC2E 9DA
Cost: All classes are free
Eligibility: All ages and abilities are welcome, no dance experience required.
We’ve had an overwhelming response to our open day and we are now fully booked! However, you can still join the waitlist.

Let’s Dance at The Royal Ballet: Live at Lunch
Sunday 2 March, 13.00-13.45
In the iconic Paul Hamlyn Hall at the Royal Opera House, watch former Royal Ballet Principal Zenaida Yanowsky take some of the newest dancers in The Royal Ballet through their daily ballet class. They will be joined by Jaimie Tapper, The Royal Ballet’s Head of Performance Coaching and Development, in a panel discussion about wellbeing in dance.
If you would like to attend The Royal Ballet’s event as well as our event at the School, we recommend booking the 11.00 or 14.00 slot with us to allow yourself time to queue, as there are limited spaces at the Live at Lunch and entry is given on a first-come first-served basis.
