Former Principal of The Royal Ballet

Karen trained at The Royal Ballet School from the age of 10, graduated into the Company at 17 and was promoted to Principal at the age of 23. Leading roles including Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Nutcraker, La Fille Mal Gardee.

Karen has been mentored by ballet legeneds such as Margot Fontaine, Rudolf Nureyev and Dame Ninette de Valois. She has performed nationally and internationally and was even asked to dance for the Royal Family.

Upon retiring from The Royal Ballet, Karen was asked to join the teaching staff of The Royal Ballet School Associate Programme and is currently teaching both Junior and Mid Associates in Bath. She teaches during our audition classes and has previously been a guest teacher on The Royal Ballet School Summer programme.

A member of the teaching faculty at the Dorothy Coleborn School of Dancing and The Bath Dance Academy, Karen guest teaches for numerous Vocational Schools.
