Morgan Ligon
Morgan trained with the B. Funk Dance Company from July 2017 to June 2019 , where she studied many styles including, ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip-hop. From September 2021 to June 2022 Morgan danced classical ballet at Ballet Tech and since August 2021 Morgan has been training with Elite Classical Coaching in styles including classical ballet, contemporary, ballroom and modern.
Morgan attended four Summer Intensive courses from 2019 to 2022, Anthony Burrell, Joffrey Ballet, John Cranko Schule and American Ballet Theatre.
Morgan’s ballet achievements include winning the Excel in Motion competion (2017), 1st place in On Stage America (2017), Platinum award and 1st place in The Countdown (2018), 1st Place in StarPower Dance Competition (2018), Platinum award in the New York City Dance Alliance, Silver medal in the American Dance Competition (2022), the Hope Award in the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Dallas Regional (2022 and 2023), and contemporary 2nd place and classical top 12 in the 2023 YAGP finals 2023. Morgan also received the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive National Training Scholar in 2023.
On being named Royal Ballet School International Scholar, Morgan said:
‘I am elated to represent The Royal Ballet School as an International Scholar. I am very grateful  to be chosen, along with many great dancers from all over the world. I believe my hard work and passion for ballet  is rewarded with this huge honor. I plan to continue training and studying ballet to improve my skill set. I’m looking forward to taking instruction from the elite faculty at the School. The support from The Royal Ballet School is priceless.’
