Summer Intensives 2018

Thank you to all of the students who attended out Summer Intensive Courses at White Lodge and the Upper School this summer.

This year we welcomed more than 530 students from around the world to train at The Royal Ballet School. During the first two weeks students were taught by The Royal Ballet School artistic staff and during weeks 3 and 4 students were taught by more than 30 guest teachers and musicians.

Alongside the Summer Intensive ran our Dance Teachers Observation Programme, a unique opportunity for dance teachers to observe our Summer Intensive classes. We also welcomed many guests to each demonstration day, where students were able to perform what they had learnt during their time with us.

Outside of the studio, students at Upper School visited the Royal Opera House, explored Covent Garden and were visited by Freed of London's professional fitting team, who offered expert advice and pointe shoe fittings. At White Lodge, students enjoyed lots of fun evening activities including discos, film nights, a scavenger hunt and an open bus tour of London.

The Intensive Courses team would like to thank everyone who helped to make this year's Summer Intensive such a success.

  1. Hi,
How long are the intensives? 4 weeks? My daughter is 11 , and I wasn’t sure if the dates in the application refer to the beginning of the 4 weeks (or we can apply for just one week?).
    I apologize for the confusion.
    Best,
    Sue
