We are proud to report that five of our students will join The Royal Ballet in September as part of the Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme 2017/18.

The programme provides young graduate dancers with a year’s contract to work alongside the corps de ballet of The Royal Ballet. In addition the dancers are given mentoring and coaching and the opportunity to perform with the Company.

The dancers joining the programme will be: Joonhyuk Jun, Joshua Junker, Sae Maeda, Nadia Mullova-Barley, and Aiden O’Brien. Congratulations to them all.

Three recent graduates of The Royal Ballet School will also be joining the Company as Artists – Giacomo Rovero, Francisco Serrano and Charlotte Tonkinson – all of whom were part of the 2016/17 Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme.

The Royal Ballet had also announced that Royal Ballet School alumnus and Birmingham Royal Ballet Soloist William Bracewell, will join The Royal Ballet as a Soloist.

Born in Swansea, William trained at the Pamela Miller Ballet School before joining The Royal Ballet School. In 2007 he won the Young British Dancer of the Year Award and was awarded the Grand Prix at the 2010 Youth America Grand Prix. He joined Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2010 and was promoted to Soloist in 2014. He was awarded the Critics’ Circle National Dance Award for Outstanding Male Performance (classical) in 2015.
