Success for our first online Junior Associate Insight Days
Between 16 and 18 February 2021 we held our first ever series of online Junior Associate Insight Days for those aged 8 to 10 years old. We were delighted that all classes sold out. In total 540 girls and 62 boys attended the Insight Days taught by our Associate Programme Artistic Manager Victoria Collinson and Associate teacher Natalie Krapf.
The Insight Days provided a snap shot of what a Junior Associate class is like. They included an hour’s class and a Q&A with the teacher. Each class involved a warm up, body conditioning, ballet exercises and creative tasks. Associate Programme Artistic Manager Victoria Collinson explains more:
Each class had a particular theme, ‘energy’ for the girls and ‘space’ for the boys. This helped to layer information assisting the learning process. At each Insight class there were two Junior Associate students who were spot lit during the class to help and inspire the participants – they were a great hit and fantastic ambassadors for the School.
These classes were fun as well as being informative and the benefit of being held over Zoom meant classes could reach a greater number of children, who took part from the comfort of their own home. Some were as far away as Northern Ireland and Guernsey.
We had lovely feedback from parents of children who participated in the online Insight Days. Ms. Wyatt, parent of one attendee, said:
A heartfelt thank you for the most inspirational and motivating class today. What a truly wonderful teacher and the most confidence building and beautiful class. My daughter is so joyful and alive after it.
Lockdown does have some benefits when we are able to access such amazing teaching from afar. We appreciate all you and your wonderful school are doing for all the children with a love of dance.
