The Royal Ballet School announces new partnership with The PE Hub

We are delighted to announce that the School has partnered with The PE Hub to expand the reach of our Primary Steps on Demand programme and bring high-quality dance education to thousands of primary school teachers and pupils across the UK.

Our Primary Steps on Demand lesson plans and teacher toolkits are now available on The PE Hub, a leading online resources platform that supports primary schools in delivering quality physical education and activities.

Following 17 years of success of the in-person Primary Steps programme, Primary Steps on Demand was launched in 2022 with the mission of making dance education available to all primary school children. Curated by experts at the School, the innovative digital programme has unlocked participation in movement and the arts, enabling all schools to teach dance with confidence and to get all children moving; boosting confidence, creativity and physical health.

With a 1000-strong membership base, The PE Hub will provide seamless access to over 52 lessons for children in Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11), ensuring that even schools in remote or underserved areas can access a comprehensive library of ballet-focused units that boost coordination, balance, flexibility, and creativity.

By offering a range of easy-to-follow lesson plans, videos, and expert guidance, The PE Hub helps teachers deliver engaging and effective PE lessons that inspire children to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle.

Victoria Collinson, Head of Associates and Primary Steps Programmes at The Royal Ballet School, shared her enthusiasm about the partnership:

The main objective of our Primary Steps on Demand programme is to make dance more accessible, and The PE Hub is the perfect platform for us to partner with to achieve this. By combining our expertise in classical ballet with The PE Hub’s brilliant reputation in the education industry and primary sector, we can open up the world of dance to thousands of children across the UK. It is an outstanding platform and we are really pleased with the final look and feel of the content. I think members will be excited to introduce a high-quality and easy-to-use dance programme into their PE curriculum.

Sammy Rayner, Co-owner of The PE Hub, added:

At The PE Hub, we are committed to delivering diverse, high-quality physical education resources that inspire and engage all learners. Partnering with The Royal Ballet School allows us to bring the creativity, discipline, and physical benefits of ballet into schools through our online platform. This collaboration enriches our offering, providing schools with an opportunity to broaden their PE curriculum by offering truly specialist content. By working with such a prestigious institution, we aim to empower teachers with accessible, expertly crafted content that fosters creativity and a lifelong love of dance.
