Night Porter

Richmond Park

We are seeking a flexible individual to join the Operations team as a Night Porter based at our Lower School in beautiful Richmond Park. We are a boarding school, therefore all of our students and a number of staff reside on site.  Working predominantly out of School hours, this role is imperative in ensuring the safety and security of our buildings, students and staff.  You will also undertake portering and front of house duties as well as patrolling and monitoring the site, and securing the School buildings and entry and exit gates.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role, ideally within a School setting, and have a current, clean full driving license and your own transport.  Due to the remote location of White Lodge, you will need to be confident entering and exiting the park out of hours and comfortable working alone, thinking on your feet and reacting calmly and professionally in an emergency situation.  Communication skills are essential in order to work with your colleagues within Operations and to offer an excellent service as front of house to staff, students and external visitors and callers.

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 4pm-12am each evening including a one-hour unpaid meal break. The shift pattern will be 4 evenings on/4 evenings off including Bank Holidays

Location: White Lodge, Richmond Park. Please consider the remote location of this role prior to applying.

Salary: £10.66 per hour.

In return we offer a contributory pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, and a wide range of discounts and salary sacrifice schemes. We also run regular ‘lunch & learns’ and a variety of wellbeing sessions.
