Interview FAQs
Unfortunately, I can’t attend any of the scheduled interview times.
We will try to accommodate the availability of short-listed candidates as best we can. In order to help us do this, we ask that you contact us to let us know any times and dates you are available. We will try our best to arrange another interview date and time for you but we cannot always guarantee we will be able to do this, as it is dependent on the availability of the interview panel.
I have an interview but I am running late/I am lost/I have gone to the wrong site for the interview.
Please telephone 0207 836 8899 for Upper School, Covent Garden, or 0208 392 8440 for White Lodge, Richmond Park, to let us know.
I haven’t heard anything after attending an interview.
We aim to inform interview candidates of the outcome of their interview within one week of their interview date, or earlier if we can. In the event that you haven’t heard from us after one week past your interview, please contact us and we will investigate this and respond as soon as we can.
I am disabled and may need some support to attend the interview and/or complete any tests. How can I discuss this?
You have the option to include this information in Part 1 of the application form and, if selected for interview, a member of HR will ask you for more information on any adjustments or support you may need to attend an interview. We would like you to feel comfortable and well supported throughout, so please provide as much detail as you can. You can contact us if you would like to discuss this further.
Can I claim interview expenses?
Unfortunately The Royal Ballet School is not able to reimburse candidates’ expenses in connection with interviews.
How will my employment checks be completed?
You will receive an email from Human Resources with full details of the checks to be undertaken. Your document checks (identification, proof of address, right to work in the UK and qualifications) should be brought in person into the School to be verified or you can send original documents to our Human Resources team. The email will contain all the information that you need to initiate a DBS and other necessary checks, complete our online training and access our policies, as well as containing the relevant forms for completion with regards to references and payment.
Can I re-apply if my application is unsuccessful?
You are welcome to re-apply, however if you’ve been unsuccessful at interview, we’d strongly encourage you to take up feedback to understand the reasons why, and reflect on whether the vacancy that you applied for was right for you.
Any questions?
