Philip Loubser Foundation inaugural Fellowship Weekend

On Friday 1 and Saturday 2 September current and former Philip Loubser Foundation fellows, including two Royal Ballet School alumni, came together for a Fellowship Weekend.

Two of our former students, Joonhyuk Jun and Hannah Bettes, gathered with other Philip Loubser Foundation fellows to celebrate each other’s achievements and share their stories. They were given a tour of Shakespeare’s Globe and the Giacometti exhibition at Tate Modern, before meeting Michael Loubser, the Foundation’s founder, for a sharing session. Joon has recently started at The Royal Ballet as a part of the Aud Jebsen Young Dancers Programme and Hannah is now a Second Soloist with Boston Ballet.

The Philip Loubser Foundation has been nurturing its fellows from across the globe with grants, mentoring and career development opportunities since its launch in 1997. As well as supporting students from The Royal Ballet School during this time, the foundation also supports talent from English National Opera, Royal College of Music and Toneelegroep Amsterdam.

This year’s Philip Loubser Foundation fellow at The Royal Ballet School is 3rd Year student Yu Hang, who recently performed in Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto at the Royal Opera House. Congratulations to Yu on becoming a Philip Loubser Foundation fellow this year.
