Intensive Courses
World-class teaching, open to everyone
Our Intensive Courses are one of the best half-term activities for dancers to experience world-class ballet training with the School’s Artistic staff and guest teachers. Students will develop their skills and explore their love for dance with others who share their passion in a supportive, inspiring environment.
We run both selective and non-selective Intensive Courses throughout the year.
Why take an Intensive Course?
Students at an Intensive Course will hone their technique and grow their strength, stamina and flexibility in classes carefully crafted for their age group, with our exceptional teachers guiding students to master new skills and offering tailored feedback. Students will develop greater self-awareness and understanding of their capabilities, strengths and areas for improvement, and their unique attributes as a dancer, growing in confidence.
Our Intensive Courses also offer opportunities to explore different dance styles and disciplines and understand the concepts of artistry, musicality and self-expression. Through experiencing a period of intensive dance training, students may start to gain an insight into full-time vocational training and whether this may be a suitable option for them in the future.
We currently offer in-person Intensive Courses in London and regional centres around the UK, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Livorno, Italy, Thailand.

Intensive Courses on Demand
We’ve developed a unique collection of classes and talks to inspire young dancers and supplement their training, all available via Video on Demand.
The classes give students a one-of-a-kind opportunity to train with The Royal Ballet School, wherever they are in the world and whenever they choose. Classes are delivered by the School’s Artistic staff and have been designed to do in smaller spaces with no special equipment, at a time that suits you. From just £5, students can access our extensive collection of ballet, contemporary, character and Pilates classes, as well as interviews and talks with our Artistic and Healthcare teams.
